In life, communication is always the key in providing a way to manage wants, needs, and other necessities within life and society. However, when that connection is severed or inept, the consequences of that loss can hurt others more than it helps. With that in mind, Jack The Underdog’s upcoming release, titled “Conversation” feat. pop-punk royalty Kellin Quinn explores the issue at hand, regarding the end result of communication gone wrong.

Jack The Underdog releases his new single tomorrow, but you can listen exclusively to “Conversation” feat. Kellin Quinn a day early with Bridge Magazine.

“I wrote this song with my good friend Amy Asher back in 2020. We met up with the idea of a relationship ending due to bad communication – something we were both dealing with at the time. The original title was ‘Given Up,’ and it was originally meant to be a sad indie girl pop song. A few months went by after writing it, and I picked the song back up with the idea of creating something more in the pop punk/rock world. The hook line ‘if we had this conversation last month, this wouldn’t be our last one’ really spoke to me, and I knew I wanted to spend the time & energy to get it finished & recorded up as a future single. I worked with my producer, Joel Jorgensen, to get the song finished and released the original version of it in July of this year. I then got connected to Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens, which seemed so surreal for me. We chatted a bit about my music, he called ‘Conversation’ a ‘banger’ and said he was down to feature on it. I gave him an open verse and pre-chorus to write something and was so stoked with what he came up with. I’ve been a Sleeping With Sirens fans for almost 10 years, and I couldn’t be happier that I actually have a song with someone that I’ve looked up to and been inspired by for so long.”

In just over half a decade, Jack The Underdog has reinvented the pop-punk genre. He fuses the styles of pop-punk with electronic and hip-hop elements to create a totally original sound, dubbed “R&P” (rhythm and punk). Inspired by social justice, Jack The Underdog writes music for the misfits. Jack understands the battles of feeling unheard, and he aims to be a voice for the marginalized and misunderstood, hoping they can find some solace in his melodies.

Jack The Underdog began his career as Jack Ohmes, writing songs in his hometown of Saint Paul, Minnesota. Music has always been in his bones – starting at a young age, Jack took piano lessons, played in the school orchestra, picked up other instrument lessons, and attendedSchool of Rock, where he was coached on performance and songwriting. It was just a few years later that he formed a band with his high school peers called Painting Stars. As he began to emerge as Jack The Underdog, Jack’s music led him to Nashville as he continued his music education at Belmont University. Jack majored in songwriting and music business and minored in social justice. Within his first few months in Nashville, Jack and his band, Painting Stars, were given the opportunity to open for the punk rock group The Story So Far.

His progressive attitude and hard-hitting lyrics will undoubtedly catapult him all the way to the top. Jack will continue to release music through the end of 2022, collaborating with artists such as Kellin Quinn of Sleeping with Sirens and more.

Jack The Underdog can be found on his website, Instagram, Facebook, Spotify, Twitter, and Tiktok.
