JonPaul Wallace, Anthony Fiolek, and Ryan Haley Make Up Your New Favorite Band

Must Read

JonPaul Wallace, Anthony Fiolek, and Ryan Haley make up a talented and dynamic group to perform JonPaul Wallace’s discography. Their set is a must-see, high energy experience.

JonPaul Wallace is the lead singer and songwriter of the group. Playing guitar and keyboards to accompany his passionate and soulful vocals, his energy is infectious from any stage.

Anthony Fiolek is the drummer and musical director. While being an incredible drummer, he also helps direct a lot of the arrangements and constantly pushes for avenues the band can take to improve the set. He comes with a plethora of performing and touring experiences, landing opportunities with countless national acts in his career.

Ryan Haley is the guitar guru of the group. He plays both guitar and bass, whichever is needed for each song. With a college degree in music, his depth of knowledge allows him to concoct interesting and intricate guitar arrangements for each song. In addition to playing with JonPaul, he also fronts his own band and writes music of his own.

We had a chance to chat with the eclectic band to get to know more about them…

Bridge: Describe your sound…

Our sound is pretty unique. We carefully arrange each song to work into a set that is not totally pop but not totally rock. The blend of live sampling and live drums, working with the live instruments makes for an energetic and infectious set that sounds like a pop show and feels like a rock show.

Bridge: How long have you been making music?

We have been playing together for about a year, but JonPaul has played with Anthony separately for about 4 years and Ryan about 3 years.

Bridge: What first inspired you to go into music?

JonPaul and Anthony met through Frankie Jason Turner, a frequent collaborator of JonPaul. Anthony’s unique blend of live sampling and live drums fits perfectly with JonPaul’s music to enhance the live experience. JonPaul and Ryan met at a DIME (Detroit Institute of Music Education) showcase event, where Ryan was performing his original song Little Boy Blue and shredded a guitar solo.

Bridge: What do you want listeners to get out of your music?

We want people to feel energized and fulfilled after seeing our set. We want to send them home on cloud 9, like they were pulled out of reality for a bit and brought into a safe space where they could express themselves and be 100% present.

Bridge: Where do you find your inspiration?

Another great thing about our group is that we all have slightly different tastes and experiences, so we can pull inspiration from so many different places. We all see live performances and go to concerts of different artists and consume content from different artists, so we all have different ideas to bring to the table that we put together into a very unique set.
