Lea Michele Joins Broadway’s Funny Girl In Place Of Beanie Feldstein

Must Read

The former “Glee” star will be starring as famed character “Fannie Brice” in the Broadway classic starting September 6th.

Feldstein, who has played main character for the past three months, announced she would be leaving the show on July 31st, two months earlier than her original ending date.

In her announcement, she attributed her early departure to a decision by the production to “take the show in a different direction.”

In the interim, Feldstein’s standby Julie Benko will perform until Michele joins in the fall.

Jane Lynch, who plays Mrs. Brice, is also leaving the show and will be replaced by Tovah Feldshuh from “Yentl.”
